el camino de santiago
i stumbled across el camino on tiktok last week and have since been down the rabbit hole every day learning everything i possibly can about it. i decided approximately 24 seconds after watching said tiktok that this is going to be my next adventure and am now planning on embarking in august for the camino frances (or norte, still waffling). it's a ~500mi/800km trek from france through spain to santiago de compostela cathedral. though i'm not religious, i am fully expecting this pilgrimage to be transformative in one way or another! i'll be updating as i get my gear (spoiler: i have never done something like this so i need to buy everythiiinngg), book my flights, map out my albergues, and most importantly, try to figure out which pair of shoes i can walk 27km/day in without getting blisters. prep starts now, so i'll also be using my daily 4mi hot girl walks to test out said shoes and start walking with a pack. there's not much training i need to do beforehand besides getting used to walking with weight (goal: keep my pack under 12 pounds) so that and trying to refine my packing skills/channel my inner minimalist will be what i focus on over the next few months. i'm super excited about this and am really manifesting that it will all come together. if anyone has done the camino or knows someone who has, please comment to share resources/stories/pictures! first stop, rei...
