who am i??
hey guys!! i'm bria (: i'm 23, living in my home state of california (for the moment), and trying to support myself without working a 9-5 so that i can live my best life - we'll see how long this lasts lol. i just graduated from colorado state university this past december with a major in liberal arts and a minor in global studies and am simultaneously super excited to be done with school and ridiculously bored. it's a weird time... what better way to spend my blissful and impromptu unemployment than by planning international trip after international trip! with what money? who knows. how confident am i that even one of these trips will happen this year? like 64%. honestly, that's good enough for me! besides daydreaming and job hunting, i also live with a pretty intense medical sitch called a cavernous malformation (cavernoma) that is a big part of who i am. basically, i was born with a cluster of malformed blood vessels smack dab in the middle of my brainstem. how did i discover this? great question. in october 2021 they essentially burst, leading to a brain hemorrhage of epic proportions. the sparksnotes version of the story involves me being in a coma, on a ventilator, doing tons of intensive rehab to relearn how to walk, talk, see, and swallow, having feeding tubes out the wazoo, and somehow fully recovering. i'm practically a medical miracle now, which is great for when i need grounding but not so great when i want to take risks, y'know?? alas, the main thing i've learned is that i can't live on what-ifs and life is too short and precious to not do what you want to do! so, with no plans for the forseeable future, i think it's time to get to traveling!
tldr: join me as i step outside of my comfort zone, learn some languages, immerse myself in new cultures, find a job, and prioritize my health in the chaos we call life. this is going to be a wild ride, but i'm so glad ur all here! subscribe to stay in the loop and pls comment, i love hearing from u! <3, bria
